Thank you for inviting me to be apart of this series (it’s magnificent). Books hold so much of our preciousness. As one colleague said years ago, “History [story] is preserved in pages.”

Thank you - this is my dream series! I need to be more patient with some books and learn to take my time if I don’t immediately connect, rather than force myself to finish them. Such an insightful post!

I love what Ęniafę says about savouring books! I am a chronic book-finisher but I have realised there are books that I learn to appreciate, or can see something new, only after a period of time. I guess this is more about rereading but I would like to be brave enough to savour a book the way she does (instead of always making myself finish it and then reread it in the future)

I connected to what she said as well. There are a few books I read recently (The Collected Regrets of Clover and Lovely One Memoir) where I found myself pausing before I dived into the last chapter. I wanted to savor the ending and really sit with what I’ve read so far.

That final question and her response struck a chord!! I’m thinking I should also implement that practice. Thank you for sharing 🌸

Even their name sounds poetic! Fully agree with the slow digestion of reading. Unless reading books is your profession, I have never understood the idea of having a reading goal for the year..
